Active, responsible citizens are well informed, and they apply knowledge and skill to actively better their community.
Through the NJROTC Unit, at Papillion La Vista South High School, I am able to be an active and responsible citizen. Members of this JROTC unit are active and responsible through the community service hours we all complete. Also through how we conduct ourselves at home, at school, and in our community. I have been a member of the unit for 3 years. Over the course of these three years I have been awarded many ribbons. The first ribbon I recieved is a Community Service ribbon (awarded 10 times), second is a Participation ribbon (awarded three times), third is an Exemplerary Conduct, fourth is an Outstanding NSII Cadet, fifth is a Unit Achievement ribbon (awarded twice), and the last ribbon I eaned is the Distinguished Unit Ribbon. Most of these awards are for personal acheivement, except for Unit Achievement and Distinguished Unit. Those were earned by everyone in the unit, it was a Unit effort.
We are still waiting on these ribbons to come in, it had to be a special order, made by the Captain..
